Curated resource sets that make planning easier and lessons more meaningful.
Looking for classroom-ready resources centered around a specific topic, event, artist, or instructional goal? Rock Hall EDU’s Themed Collections bring together curated sets of our free resources—so you can dive right into powerful lessons without the prep work.
What Are Themed Collections?
Each collection is built by our education team to support teachers with cohesive, flexible materials connected by a central theme. Whether it’s Black History Month, Women Who Rock, Social Justice Through Music, or Music in the Preschool Classroom, these collections gather the best of Rock Hall EDU’s content in one place.
Collections may include a mix of:
- Primary source artifacts and photographs
- Slide presentations
- Writing and creative activities
- Videos, playlists, and guiding questions
- Printable worksheets and classroom prompts
How to Use Them
Rock Hall EDU collections are designed to make it easy for educators to:
- Build lessons around historical events or cultural moments (like MLK Day or Juneteenth)
- Explore artist spotlights and genre histories
- Connect music to social-emotional learning, early childhood literacy, or ELA skills
- Support project-based learning and student expression
Each collection includes a short educator introduction with classroom suggestions to help you adapt resources for your grade level and subject.
Example: In our Martin Luther King Jr. Day Collection, students examine how gospel and soul music supported the Civil Rights Movement through videos, primary sources, and artist profiles. A printable worksheet encourages students to share their own dreams for a better world.
