Use the materials in this collection to introduce your students to gospel and soul artist Mavis Staples, the recipient of the 2019 Rock Hall Honors award. The resources in this collection highlight Staples’s career from her years as a member of the Staple Singers to her more recent work as a solo artist. The collection includes a PowerPoint presentation about the Staple Singers, a student-facing biography of Mavis Staples, and well as interviews, press releases, articles, concert posters, and photographs of Staples and her family.
